Main Activity

When done thoughtfully, person-centered planning creates a space of empowerment—a level playing field—that allows for consideration of personal preferences as well as health and safety needs, without unnecessarily restricting freedoms. The best person-centered planning helps people to live better lives, with support to do the things most important.

The K-SDP Network is for parents who have children registered in a regional center who are participating in or interested in SDP, groups active in special needs communities, people involved in special needs worship in the church, current IFs, and those who want to do IFs in the future. Anyone, including everyone, can participate.

You can freely communicate and share new information quickly and easily by joining the Kakao Talk Open Chat of the Korean SDP Network.

The Korean SDP Network intends to promote solidarity and cooperation with each other through various activities as follows.

  1. There are seminars by experts related to developmental disabilities and SDP

  2. Various information will be provided through the website of the Korean SDP Network and a list of service providers will be shared.

  3. There will be a Zoom meeting every two months.

Anyone who is interested in SDP, a parent who is in the process of SDP, or who is interested in the current IF or and those who want to do IFs in the future, experts can participate.

We will have a topical conversation, and through the Q&A time, it will be a time to share and receive help from problems that are occurring during the actual SDP, and all questions about difficult lighting.

  1. Difficulties and problems with SDP shared during this time will be      forwarded to DVU to bring the voice of the Korean community to the state government. We will also share with all participants changes in state policy and trends across special needs.

  2. It will serve as a bridge between the Korean community and mainstream society.

  3. We will provide information to receive better quality service by establishing a cooperative relationship with experts and organizations that can receive advice based on trust working for special needs.
